How To Plan the Perfect Relaxation Trip to Cabo San Lucas
Planning a trip to Cabo San Lucas for a bit of wellness, relaxation, and pampering? Then you have to read on. This article is not about jam-packed itineraries and 25 things to do in Cabo in 3 days. This article is about finding a hotel that will simply let you relax, enjoy, unwind and do activities that make you feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

Best Time to go to Cabo San Lucas
If you want to avoid the crowds, I highly recommend the shoulder or even the off-season. Shoulder season is April through June and September to early November. July and August are hot and muggy, and summer storms are quite common. So keep that in mind when you book your trip to Cabo. The best weather is December through March, but it is also the most expensive time to go. To be honest, Cabo is always a good idea!
Where to Stay for Your Trip To Cabo
If you are out and about all day exploring and just head to your hotel to catch some zzzzs, the hotel is less important. But if you want to kick back and take some time for yourself, you want to do that at a nice hotel that knows how to spoil you during your stay.
🥇My Hotel Recommendation

Hard Rock Hotel Cabo San Lucas
On my last trip to Cabo, I was invited to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Cabo San Lucas and I think it was the perfect choice for a relaxing getaway. It is an all-inclusive resort, so you don’t have to worry about costs and can just sit back, order another umbrella drink and enjoy. The property is gorgeous and is located just a little outside of the hustle and buzzle of the main tourist areas, yet close enough to make it easy to go out and explore.

The 5 pools at the Hard Rock Hotel invite you to be as lazy as you want to. I am not ashamed to admit that I spent at least a few hours a day at these gorgeous pools, reading, sleeping, eating, and drinking the day away in total bliss. The main pool is the “party pool”, but most of the other ones are very quiet and chill, so no matter what you are in the mood for, you can find the perfect spot.
In between my pool sessions, I ate my way through the 8 on-property restaurants, ranging from authentic local Mexican food to Asian, Italian, burgers, steaks, seafood, and everything in between. I am a big foodie and I was really impressed with the food at this hotel. A really cool experience was the Awaken Your Senses dinner that stimulates not just your tastebuds, but all your senses.

And then there is the Spa. Your relaxation trip to Cabo will not be complete without some pampering at the spa, right? Let me tell you: The Synchronicity massage was mind-blowing. It is a bit pricey, but hey, you don’t spoil yourself like this every day, right?

Cabo has many accommodation options that are absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend splurging a bit for your wellness getaway trip to Cabo. Finding the right place to stay can really make or break your Cabo trip, so this should be a priority for you.
Relaxing Things to do in Cabo San Lucas
Of course, you could just stay at the hotel the whole time, but even for a relaxing Cabo trip, that sounds a little boring, no? Here are some ideas of fun things to do in Cabo that will bring you joy and happiness.
Get Outdoors
Where the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez meet, magic happens. Nature has some healing and rejuvenating properties that will help you de-stress and appreciate the moment. There are plenty of options to enjoy the outdoors in Cabo, from snorkeling to hiking, kayaking, SUPing, and more. If you love animals, sign up for swimming with whale sharks or go on a whale-watching cruise. Seeing these majestic animals in their natural habitat is such an incredible experience.

Retail Therapy in San José del Cabo
Shopping brings joy, especially when you stroll through a cute neighborhood like the historic Gallery District in San José del Cabo. If you like art, enjoy the many art galleries in this neighborhood. And don’t forget to pick up some cute souvenirs from local artists, and treat yourself to a memento or two that will remind you of this fun trip to Cabo for years to come.

Sail to the Cabo Arch
The iconic Cabo arch tour should be the one MUST on your Cabo trip itinerary. If you want to avoid the crowds and feel like you have the view all to yourself? Do a morning instead of a sunset cruise. There will be fewer boats and the water will be calmer.
I always feel so incredibly free, when I am on the water and feel the salty air on my face and any activity that involves a boat brings me joy and happiness. Pair that with such a stunning view, and I am one lucky lady!
I did a 4-hour private sailboat tour with Cabo Adventures and they were incredible. Our fantastic captain made sure that we got the perfect angle of the Cabo Arch for pictures and there was even a photographer on board that took photos of our group. But the best part? We saw so many whales!!! Probably close to 20 in total. I have been whale watching in San Diego many times, but I have never seen so many whales. And this wasn’t even a whale-watching cruise!

Play some Golf
Cabo has some of the best golf courses in the world and if you like to hit the green to forget about the rest of the world, then this is the right place. Cabo is known as the Golf Capital of Mexico and has some incredible courses.
Go on an adventure
I know I said this would be about relaxing activities. But nothing clears your head as fast and effectively as an adrenaline rush. The high you get from pushing yourself outside your comfort zone and succeeding in something that took effort and courage to do is exhilarating. So how about some ziplining, doing the famous Cabo canyon swing, joining an ATV tour or maybe learning how to scuba dive? It will boost your confidence and be an experience that you’ll never forget.

While all these activities are fun, don’t pack your Cabo trip too full. Less is more! And you can always come back, right?
